In Unexpected Places
Opening Saturday May 5, noon-5pm
runs through June 30
at the Pomerene Center for the Arts
“In a most unusual manner and with the most unsuspecting of materials, Melissa Vogley Woods creates Delightful works of art based in inventive re-configuring traditional quilt patterns.” excerpt from HERE and Beyond: curated by Margo A. Crutchfield, Senior Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland
Amy Rich extends traditional quilting techniques in new directions. Out of materials gathered from thrift stores, auctions, yard sales, attics, closets, gutters, and nature–she brings together traces of what has been left behind and who has touched them.
IN UNEXPECTED PLACES is part of Dogwood Festival 2012. In celebration of the visual and performing arts, the exhibit will open with a picnic lunch on the Pomerene lawn. Lunch $5, reservations suggested, pomerenearts@gmail.com or 740.622.0326
