A GREAT VOYAGE DOWN THE STREET
August 4-8, 2014, 9am-noon @ the Pomerene Center for the Arts

3 groups x 5 street voyagers will exit the back door of the Pomerene Center Monday morning, August 4, with nothing more than a well-stocked explorer’s kit–compass, map, binoculars, magnifying glass, sketch book, ipad, a little water & bread (or suitable snack substitute).

Choosing their own route, the street voyagers (from now on known as SVs) will observe, draw, write, photograph and imagine their way to the Coshocton County courthouse to….? Grounded in the small realities they discover, the SVs will document their great adventure–to be shared with beloved families & friends at a picnic on Friday, August 8 at noon. The audience should expect nothing less than a fantastic recounting (drawings, photos, prints and text assembled as a travel guide) of a simple tale.

A GREAT VOYAGE DOWN THE STREET is led by Anne Cornell, Pomerene Center for the Arts Community Studio Artist and Geni Devens.  Geni Devens has a degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  She has lived in Coshocton for 2years with her husband who is an engineer at RockTenn.
