Dogwood Festival is all about celebrating the arts.  Whether you’re an accomplished artist, relatively sure the best you can do is draw a stick figure, or  just learning to hold a pencilâsit down and draw with the Artist Friends of the Pomerene. Live creatively!  as part of Dogwood Festival 2013/First Friday Celebration.
Next stop, PARK space.  Help make the “BIG RUG” for the little sod island with Jessie Tubbs and her young yarn bombing crew. They’re a creative and friendly bunch and will gladly teach you how to crochet if you don’t already know.

7pm, May 6 âNo Place Like Home OPEN MIC EVENING WITH WRITERS” sponsored by Coshocton’s Write on Writers Guild @POMERENE CENTER. “Coshocton’s Write-On Writers Guild was formed in early 2000.  Our group meets monthly at the Coshocton Public Library. Our group consists of published writers and poets, as well as wannabes. We usually have a monthly assignment and share our poems, stories and memories with each other. Â
In association with the Dogwood Festival for the past 8 years, our May meeting is held at the Pomerene Center for the Arts at 317 Mulberry Street, Coshocton, at 7:00 pm, under the large awning on the front lawn. Refreshments are provided. The public is welcome to come to listen and read at the open mic while enjoying the beauty surrounding the Pomerene Center. Each year, we write poems, stories, letters or memories using the Dogwood Festival’s theme. This year’s Evening with the Writers will feature readings about “No Place Like Home.” The most enjoyable part of the evening, for some, is realizing the variety of writings on one subject, as well as the talent of our local writers.”Â
4pm, May 9 âNo Place Like Homeâ stories & crafts @COSHOCTON PUBLIC LIBRARY. all free.
