The idea is to capture a moment in time, a little history–big kids going out into the world standing on the Platform next to kindergarteners coming into schools–the class of 2010 passing the torch to the class of 2023.
Here's what you can expect:
A little time to gather on the Coshocton County Court Square in the gazebo area.: 4:30 River View, 5:00 Ridgewood, 5:30 Coshocton Seniors will give the kindergarteners a small good luck charm to give them heart as they set out on their school careers. Everyone will sign photo releases. You can download one here. Release form for people under 18, for adults . Kindergarteners must be accompanied by a parent.
Standing together.This is the picture part. Seniors and kindergarteners will cross the street to the old PARK lot and take a place on the Platform. Say cheese.
If you're not a kindergartener or a senior BRING A CAMERA or at least YOUR PHONE so you can be part of the action.
THE ACTION
1. Take one photo at the moment when the seniors and kindergarteners say "cheese". If you have a digital camera with a zoom lens, take three photos (wide-angle, mid-zoom, full-zoom)
2. E-mail each photo as soon as possible to acornell@pomerenearts.org subject line Passing the torch River View or Passing the torch Ridgewood or Passing the torch Coshocton. DON'T FORGET TO IDENTIFY THE SCHOOL! Please send one photo per message, 10MB size limit.
We will upload all the photos at If you’ve given us your email address on the release form, we’ll send you a link to our photosynth so you can share with all your friends. We'll also project the synth on the old PARK wall during graduation weekends, Friday through Sunday. May 28,29,30 and June 4,5,6 from 8-midnight.
WHAT IS Photosynth
Photosynth is a software application from Microsoft Live Labs and the University of Washington that "allows you to take a bunch of photos of the same scene or object and stitch them all together into one big interactive 3D viewing experience that you can share with anyone on the web." http://photosynth.net
